Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit Job Overland Park area,Kansas USA,Nursing

American Traveler is seeking a PCU RN for a float pool position requiring telemetry experience and dual Kansas/Missouri or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

Active Kansas and Missouri RN license or compact license required in hand
Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
ACLS certification preferred
1-2 years of experience required, with 2 years of recent in-specialty experience preferred within the past 12 months and no employment gaps greater than 90 days
Experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Stepdown settings required
Skilled in cardiac monitoring and emergency response including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care required
Experience managing sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID patients required
Preferred skills include sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, and central line care
Two professional references required, one from a supervisor level or above and the second from a charge RN, both from within the past year

Responsibilities

Float pool position covering approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments with floating to other metro campuses as needed
No assigned home unit
Day shift, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM to 7:15 PM)
Patient ratio of 1:5
8 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit
No on-call requirements
No block scheduling accommodations
Float pool RN responsible for providing care across multiple Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU units and campuses
Charting and documentation performed using Epic, with training modules provided prior to start
Special equipment used includes 12-lead EKG, Air Vo, Voalte, and Omnicell
Infusion pump and glucometer training must be completed prior to start
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Travel experience not required
No travel partners accepted
Maximum RTO of 7 days, with all time-off requests finalized prior to submission and no additional requests after offer or onsite
Previous BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 18 months with a 3-month break in service, or 1 year if returning as a traveler after permanent employment
Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility will not be accepted as local
