Emergency Services Nurse Manager (RN) SHR Talent is partnering with a healthcare client in Overland Park, KS in its search for an Emergency Services Nurse Manager (RN).
This is a permanent, full-time day shift leadership opportunity within a 340+ bed acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center.
Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services and hospital nursing leadership, the Emergency Services Nurse Manager will oversee the daily clinical and operational functions of a high-volume Emergency Department while leading approximately 90 FTEs.
The Emergency Services Nurse Manager will provide nursing leadership for an Emergency Department treating approximately 100 patients per day. The department includes 24 main Emergency Department beds and 12 hallway beds within a high-acuity environment.
This leader will be responsible for staffing, clinical quality, patient safety, employee performance, regulatory compliance, patient experience, and day-to-day department operations while ensuring nursing care is delivered in accordance with established policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Emergency Department RN leader with a strong acute care background and demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Current Nurse Managers are strongly preferred; however, experienced ED Charge Nurses with significant leadership responsibility may also be considered.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Emergency Services leader looking to oversee a large clinical team and continue developing their healthcare leadership career within a Level II Trauma Center.

- Provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership for a high-volume Emergency Department, overseeing approximately 90 FTEs while ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality, and patient-centered emergency care
- Manage department staffing, scheduling, workflow, productivity, and resource utilization while ensuring appropriate clinical coverage and supporting efficient patient throughput
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop Emergency Department nursing staff while fostering employee engagement, accountability, teamwork, professional development, and a culture of clinical excellence
- Monitor nursing practice, patient safety, clinical outcomes, quality metrics, and regulatory compliance while identifying opportunities for performance improvement and holding staff accountable to established standards of care
- Collaborate with the Director of Emergency Services, physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to address operational challenges, improve patient experience, optimize Emergency Department performance, and support organizational objectives
- Graduate of an accredited professional School of Nursing required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or must be actively pursuing a BSN with completion within 2 years of hire - Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kansas or active Multistate/Compact RN license in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
- ACLS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, and ENPC or PALS certifications required within 90 days of employment
- Minimum of 3 years of recent acute care Emergency Department leadership experience required, with experience occurring within the past year
- Current or recent Emergency Department Nurse Manager experience within a high-acuity acute care hospital strongly preferred; experienced ED Charge Nurses with significant leadership responsibilities may also be considered
- Demonstrated experience leading Emergency Services nursing teams with responsibility for staffing, clinical quality, patient safety, employee performance, patient throughput, and day-to-day department operations
- Experience with in a high-volume Emergency Department, Trauma Center, or other high-acuity emergency care environment strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of emergency nursing practices, trauma care, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, staffing, patient flow, clinical performance, and patient safety
- Excellent leadership, communication, critical thinking, conflict resolution, organizational, and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively lead a large multidisciplinary clinical team
