American Traveler is hiring a PCU RN for a float pool position requiring telemetry experience and both Kansas and Missouri (or compact) RN licensure in hand.
Details- Float pool position with no assigned home unit, rotating among roughly 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments and other metro campuses
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:45 to 19:15
- Weekend requirement of 8 shifts within Saint Luke's 6-week schedule, combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday
- Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
- No on-call requirements
- No block scheduling accommodations
- Uses Epic EMR, 12 lead EKG, Air Vo, Voalte, and Omnicell systems
- Active RN license
- Kansas and Missouri or compact license required in hand at time of consideration - Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS required, ACLS preferred
- 1 to 2 years of experience required, with 2 years of recent in-specialty experience preferred
- Must have a full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days
- Experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, and Neuro Stepdown settings required
- Experience in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, on-unit telemetry monitoring, and pre/post cardiac cath care required
- Experience with sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID patient care required
- Preferred skills include sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management
- Willingness to float between departments, units, and facilities as needed
- Provide telemetry and cardiac monitoring care across multiple Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU units
- Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel position
- Maximum RTO of 7 days, with all time off requests finalized at time of consideration
- Returning staff must have at least an 18-month tenure with a 3-month break in service; permanent BJC or Saint Luke's employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
