Our client, an industrial contractor for the agricultural and bio-fuel industries, is seeking a Safety Manager to lead workplace safety and health initiatives across the organization. You will serve as the primary safety resource and visit 8-12 active job sites per week. You will own OSHA compliance, conduct accident investigations, manage safety training and documentation, and promote a proactive safety culture.
The ideal candidate is bilingual in English and Spanish, organized, knowledgeable of safety regulations, and comfortable working directly with employees and management. - Provide guidance and direction in all areas of occupational safety and health requirements
- Lead and direct managers during accident and incident investigations
- Maintain OSHA records, safety documentation, SDS, training logs, and assessments
- Ensure required accident information is accurately recorded and reported, including interviews
- Lead new employee safety orientations, training, and required testing
- Develop, maintain, and improve company safety policies and procedures
- Conduct monthly safety meetings; communicate lessons learned from accidents/near misses
- Monitor employee safety training, forklift certifications, and required renewals for 70 employees
- Manage workplace drug and alcohol testing processes and required follow-up
- Maintain safety equipment inventory and order supplies as needed
- Issue and document written employee warnings in accordance with company policies
- Prepare required monthly/annual safety reports, including OSHA 300 logs and workers’ comp
- Coordinate first aid training for new employees and required renewals
- Conduct retraining following major safety violations
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies
- Promote a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement throughout the organization
- 5+ yrs experience leading safety initiatives in a construction or industrial environment required
- OSHA 30-hr certification required
- Experience with fall protection, fire protection, Lock Out Tag Out required
- Experience with permitting required
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) required
