Position Overview

Under the guidance of the Technical Services Manager, you’ll perform ASTM‑standard tests on concrete and raw materials to guarantee the highest quality and ensure products meet exact specifications. You’ll become a trusted resource for our customers, providing expert support on concrete performance, mix design, and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct seven ASTM tests on plastic concrete samples, including slump, air, yield, temperature, moisture, and related analyses.
  • Lead and instruct batch plant teams in scheduled testing and quality procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving inquiries and issues professionally, strengthening client relationships.
  • Collect and sieve rock and sand samples to maintain high quality standards.
  • Manage and deliver test cylinders between batch plants and our state‑of‑the‑art research lab.
  • Ensure compliance with ASTM specifications and ACI standards in all testing and reporting.
  • Keep laboratory equipment calibrated and in optimal condition.
  • Document and report test results, maintaining accurate records of all projects.
  • Conduct safety training, including slump school for drivers and staff.
  • Take on special projects and additional tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, consistently observing safety regulations.
  • Coordinate closely with batch plant teams to optimize concrete production.
Who We’re Looking For
  • Experience:

    At least two years’ experience in concrete quality control testing and mix design preferred.
  • Certifications:

    ACI Concrete Field‑Testing Technician certification highly preferred. Additional certifications in Aggregate Testing and Hardened Properties (Compressive Cylinders) a plus.
  • Skills:

    Proficient in ASTM and ACI testing procedures; capable of calibrating equipment, analyzing results, and solving complex problems. Excellent decision‑making and communication skills required.
  • Tech Savvy:
    Comfortable using computers to record data and generate reports.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Able to lift to 50 pounds and handle the demands of an active, field‑based role.
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some college coursework in a related field is preferred.

Work Environment Requirements
  • Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
  • Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 25‑50 lbs as needed.
  • Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
