Opportunity

Join the Quality Management team responsible for administering and advancing the Black & Veatch Quality Management System (QMS). This role actively promotes, evaluates, and enhances the effective implementation of QMS processes across the organization. The Process Improvement Specialist supports continuous improvement initiatives through process development, tool administration, and performance evaluation, working collaboratively across teams to drive process maturity and improvements aligned with ISO 9001 principles and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support process owners with publishing, revising, and improving QMS processes and documentation
  • Validate cross‑functional workflows to ensure effective and efficient process execution
  • Monitor, analyze, and report performance data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities
  • Support change management activities related to process, system and tool updates
  • Develop and deliver training on quality processes, tools and systems
  • Administer system tools and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the Quality Management System and related standards
  • Collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders simultaneously to support quality and process improvement initiatives
  • Participate in business process and project‑specific improvement efforts in alignment with ISO 9001 principles
  • Periodic travel may be required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI)
  • Working knowledge of change management concepts and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 principles and Quality Management Systems
  • Understanding of performance metrics, data analysis and reporting techniques
  • General knowledge of engineering, design or construction processes
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (technical or business discipline preferred) or equivalent experience (6+ years in quality or related industry)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret data, including trends and performance metrics
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, delivering results with minimal supervision
  • Self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Certifications
  • Training or certification in Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 9001:2015
  • Additional process improvement or quality certifications (Lean, Six Sigma) are a plus
Work Environment/Physical Demands

Normal office environment; may include heavy industrial construction exposure. Occasional physical work conditions: capable of walking 5 miles and climbing stairs to 300‑foot height; walk, climb stairs, ladders, move in/out of vehicles; lift or move up to 25 pounds; construction site environment with frequent exposure to vibration and loud noise, occasional airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, slippery uneven surfaces and risk of electrical shock.
