QA Specialist - Nuclear

Key Responsibilities

• Learn the Black & Veatch Quality Management System (QMS) including policies, manuals, procedures and best practices.
• Apply the QMS to daily support activities.
• Support independent internal and external quality audits and assessments.
• Support the monitoring and evaluation of projects (QA checks) to applicable governance to ensure quality of work.
• Learn how to apply and support project needs with QMS tools such as Corrective Action Requests, Preventive Action Requests, Nonconformance Reports, Deviations, Process Requirements Engagement Program (PREP), and Lessons Learned.
• Support quality‑related process improvement activities or quality department initiatives.
• Gather information and analyze performance of assigned processes and projects.
• Support implementation of project quality process changes, including creating or revising Division QMS documents.
• Interface with multiple project teams and professionals simultaneously.
• Periodic travel required.
• Individual contributor with no direct reports.

Individual Contributor

• Basic understanding of principles, practices, techniques and theories of quality processes.
• Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Basic knowledge of financial measures and related principles and application.
• Basic understanding of industrial design and construction.
• Ability to understand instructions; verbal, numeric, and spatial aptitudes; perception of detail in verbal or tabular materials; analytic, precise, and problem solving.
• Ability to manage small development projects (resources, scope, schedule, results, and risk).
• Basic understanding of ISO 9001:2015 principles.

• Demonstrates intermediate process management, conflict management, total work systems, and written communications.

• 4‑year degree in Management or Business.
• 5–8 years of prior experience specifically in the development and implementation of effective Quality Compliance Audits.
• For a Nuclear Position: 5 years of total experience in nuclear QA oversight.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations).

ASQ Certified Auditor training Certification:
Certified Quality Auditor; active member of American Society for Quality (desired).
