GeneralJob Summary
The Assistant Manager in Training will manage overall store operations, focus on customer service, store operations, inventory, merchandising, hiring, training, and leadership, driving the achievement of company goals and directives.
Customer Service- Provide positive representation of ARG and greet customers.
- Assist customers in solving problems, handle complaints, and resolve issues with the company's best interest in mind.
- Maintain prompt, courteous, and effective communication via calls and pages.
- Demonstrate excellent product knowledge and familiarity with store layout.
- Supervise general operations, opening and closing procedures, and implementation of Store Support Center programs.
- Implement new Standard Operating Procedures and ensure successful Loss Prevention, Safety, and Internal Audits.
- Participate in weekly management staff meetings and communicate issues to relevant departments with approval.
- Assist with special projects within the district as directed.
- Oversee daily maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness of sales floor, stock room, and outdoor merchandise areas.
- Oversee cashiering functions, including training, maintenance, audits, and reports.
- Manage preventative maintenance and repairs of all physical assets.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Ensure safe and efficient forklift operations and receiving processes.
- Maintain back stock levels and perform cycle counts and negative on‑hand reports.
- Manage ordering and inventory levels to ensure profitability.
- Oversee merchandise resets, signage, and overall sales floor presentation.
- Assist in training, hiring, scheduling, reviewing, rewarding, and coaching associates.
- Recruit, promote, and support advancement of ARG associates.
- Manage all aspects of store operations in the absence of the General Manager.
- Lead by example, encourage collaboration, and communicate merchandising, cost‑control, or sales ideas.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous retail management experience preferred; hardware experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25 lbs), and climb as required.
- Demonstrate the core values in daily interactions and decisions.
Starting pay at $20.00 per hour.
