The Sales Executive is Flury-Hinderks' growth engine and community ambassador. This role is responsible for building new client relationships, growing the agency's book of business, and representing the FH brand with professionalism and enthusiasm in every community interaction. Success requires disciplined outbound activity, persistence, and the ability to connect with people authentically and consistently. The Sales Executive brings the Flury-Hinderks experience to people who don't yet know what it feels like to have a great insurance agency working on their behalf.
DUTIES& RESPONSIBILITIES Sales & Business Development
- Generate $30,000 or more in new business premium per month, executing a disciplined weekly outreach plan without exception.
- Work the lost business list, unsold quotes approaching renewal, and monoline accounts for account review and rounding opportunities every week.
- Follow the full FH new business sales process from initial inquiry through bound policy, maintaining a closing ratio of 50% or better.
- Pursue new inbound inquiries within the same business day; follow up on web leads with persistent, professional multi-touch outreach.
- Meet with at least one center of influence per week and attend a minimum of four networking events per month.
- Present proposals, ask for referrals, and represent FH's value, not just price, in every prospect conversation.
- Prequalify prospects for insurability and quality of risk; obtain signed applications, bind coverage, and finalize all underwriting requirements.
- Maintain 92% retention on new business written.
- Update the agency management system daily for all prospects, new business, and service interactions.
- Respond to all Account Manager questions or emails within 24 hours.
- Show up professionally on social media, in community forums, and in all carrier or agency marketing activities; you are the face of Flury-Hinderks in the marketplace.
- Support agency marketing initiatives, including video proposals, content suggestions, and digital outreach as directed.
- Demonstrate our core values of Teamwork, Integrity, Professionalism, and Ethics in every prospect, client, and community interaction.
- Actively engage in continuing education through carrier programs and CAA (Certified Agency Alliance) offerings.
- Actively engage in agency training, meetings, and professional development initiatives.
- High personal drive and persistence: comfortable with high-volume outbound activity and the inevitable rejections that come with it.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; polished, professional, and engaging in person and in writing.
- Strong community presence or the clear ability to build one; energized by people and networking.
- Organized and self-directed: capable of managing your own pipeline, calendar, and weekly activity without close supervision.
- Proficiency with computers, agency management systems, and carrier websites.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, not required.
- Demonstrated experience in insurance sales or a closely related field (financial services, mortgage, real estate) preferred. A proven track record of outbound prospecting and closing is strongly preferred.
- Resident and non-resident Property & Casualty insurance licenses are required in all states needed to conduct business. Must be maintained in good standing.
- Ongoing professional development through carrier programs and CAA offerings is expected. All Sales Executives maintain elite professional standing as brand representatives of Flury-Hinderks.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Regular local travel required for networking events, community engagement, and COI meetings.
