Job Description
Uhlig Agencies is looking for a highly connected, relationship-driven professional to join our team as a Strategic Partnership Manager.
This is not a traditional insurance sales position.
Your job is to build relationships that create business.
You’ll spend your time developing a strong network of referral partners including mortgage lenders, real estate agents, title professionals, builders, financial professionals, and other businesses that regularly work with people who need insurance.
We’re looking for someone who knows how to walk into a room, start conversations, build genuine relationships, stay top of mind, and turn those relationships into consistent referral partnerships.
If you’ve worked in title, mortgage, real estate, business development, outside sales, or another relationship-heavy industry, this could be a great fit.
Base Salary: $4,000/month ($48,000 annually)
Monthly Referral Bonus:
$0 to $30,000k
Business Development Budget
You’ll also have a dedicated monthly budget to help you build and maintain your network.
Starting monthly budget: $5,000
This budget can be used strategically for approved relationship-building activities such as partner lunches, networking events, sponsor ships, educational events, client or partner experiences, and other business development opportunities.
We want this role to have the resources to actually build business, not just be told to ‘go network.’
As referral production grows, so does your available business development budget.
For every referral produced above 100 in the previous month, the following month's budget increases by $50.
Example:
110 referrals = additional $500 in business development budget the following month.
How Success Is Measured
Success in this role isn’t measured by how many events you attend or business cards you collect.
It’s measured by relationships that produce business.
We will look at:
- Qualified referrals generated
- Active referral partners
- New referral partnerships established
- Referral consistency by partner
- Growth of referral volume month over month
- Quality of referred opportunities
- Partner retention and engagement
- Return on business development spending
- Our goal is to build a network of partners who don’t just send us one customer. We want partners who think of our agency first every time one of their clients needs insurance.
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Dental Insurance
- Mon-Fri Schedule
- Hands on Training
What You’ll Do
Your primary responsibility will be developing and growing referral partnerships that consistently generate qualified insurance opportunities for our sales team.
You will:
- Identify and develop new referral partners throughout our markets
- Build relationships with mortgage lenders, real estate agents, title companies, builders, financial professionals, and other strategic partners
- Attend networking events, industry events, association meetings, office visits, lunches, happy hours, and community events
- Create opportunities to introduce Uhlig Agencies to new businesses and referral sources
- Maintain consistent communication and follow-up with existing partners
- Develop creative ways to provide value to our referral partners
- Coordinate partner events, presentations, educational opportunities, and relationship-building activities
- Track referral activity and measure which partnerships are producing results
- Work closely with our sales leadership team to ensure referred customers receive an exceptional experience
- Turn individual relationships into long-term, repeatable sources of business
- This role will have significant freedom to build relationships and develop new opportunities. We care much more about results than sitting behind a desk.
We’re creating this position because we believe there is a major opportunity…
