This job is primarily responsible for negotiating and communicating with carriers with the overall goal of moving customer freight. Additionally, this role is responsible for building high-level relationships through a sales mentality and resolving any customer or carrier issues, understanding market conditions and representing the carrier market with effective communication across teams.

In this job, you will:- Find and solicit options for every load tendered from customers.
- Negotiate transportation rates; closely follow market trends and seasonality of lanes and modes of transportation.
- Provide superior customer service through professional communication to carriers and customers; respond to and promptly handle customer concerns.
- Develop and maintain carrier relationships.
- Track and trace booked loads to ensure on time pickup and delivery.
- Dispatch shipments to carriers and monitor progress to ensure service requirements are adhered to.
- Understand and communicate market conditions and data to form strategies with internal and external customers.
- Work with compliance department to ensure all carriers are current on requirements.
- Professionally represent organization to carrier and customer partners daily.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education Required – High school diploma or equivalent education and/or training.
- Experience Required – Experience working as a freight forwarded or Third Party Logistics Company, and with quoting and dispatching flat bed, van, and reefer.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge and understanding of the industry.
- Knowledge and understanding of transportation management systems.
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Sound judgment, decision making, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service both internally and externally.
- Ability to follow direction and use logical thought process to interpret oral and written communications and recommend alternative solutions to mechanical problems.
- Ability to complete documentation requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
