  • Creates a flexible elementary program and classroom environment that promotes learning and personal growth for all students.
  • Establishes effective rapport with students to motivate them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for progress in accordance with each student’s ability.
  • Demonstrates appropriate short‑ and long‑term preparation for classroom instruction.
  • Holds high expectations for all students and serves as a facilitator of learning.
  • Organizes and uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize learning for each child in individual and group settings.
  • Assesses student progress, provides specific feedback to students and parents, and uses results to adjust instruction.
  • Provides opportunities for academic support and challenge.
  • Takes responsibility for teaching the district curriculum as outlined in the curriculum documents.
  • Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicates them to students.
  • Keeps abreast of current development in the field and deepens understanding of the discipline.
  • Maintains a functional, attractive, orderly, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning and community building.
