Examples of Work Performed- Creates a flexible elementary program and classroom environment that promotes learning and personal growth for all students.
- Establishes effective rapport with students to motivate them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for progress in accordance with each student’s ability.
- Demonstrates appropriate short‑ and long‑term preparation for classroom instruction.
- Holds high expectations for all students and serves as a facilitator of learning.
- Organizes and uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize learning for each child in individual and group settings.
- Assesses student progress, provides specific feedback to students and parents, and uses results to adjust instruction.
- Provides opportunities for academic support and challenge.
- Takes responsibility for teaching the district curriculum as outlined in the curriculum documents.
- Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicates them to students.
- Keeps abreast of current development in the field and deepens understanding of the discipline.
- Maintains a functional, attractive, orderly, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning and community building.
- Develops classroom rules, behavior procedures, and maintains fair and just order.
- Manages discipline in accordance with administrative regulations, school board policies, and legal requirements.
- Develops strategies to manage student behavior, encouraging responsibility and self‑control.
- Prepares for safeguarding students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Demonstrates a respectful, cooperative, and caring manner with students and adults.
- Represents the school in non‑instructional assignments and student management across the entire building.
- Maintains complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Contributes to school effectiveness through collaboration with colleagues and participation in staff meetings, conferences, and committees.
- Actively pursues professional growth through staff development, education opportunities, and professional organization participation.
- Participates in the Performance‑Based Teacher Evaluation process.
- Supervises students during school‑sponsored after‑school or evening activities.
- Attends meetings and activities outside the normal school day, such as professional development, parent conferences, and staff meetings.
