The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring all items are properly received, stored, and distributed. This role ensures the accuracy of inventory records and plays a key part in maintaining the efficiency of the warehouse or storage facility.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify shipments of incoming goods, materials, or products.
- Record and document any damage or discrepancies and notify relevant departments.
- Prepare and pack outgoing shipments accurately, ensuring proper documentation and labels.
- Organize and store products in the correct location within the warehouse or storage area.
- Maintain inventory records, track stock levels, and update databases as necessary.
- Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment and safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all shipping and receiving activities.
- Perform regular stock checks and assist with inventory audits.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, safely and efficiently.
- Assist in managing the return and disposal of damaged or unwanted inventory.
