CNC Machinist Lead Operations & Workflow

+ Oversee daily shop operations and maintain smooth workflow

+ Set department goals aligned with company objectives

+ Schedule and manage jobs, labor hours, and machine shop activities

+ Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to keep work moving

+ Ensure all jobs are fully prepared before production (tools, materials, programs, and setup instructions ready)

Technical & Process Support

+ Create, review, and update CNC programs

+ Assist with development of new parts, processes, and procedures

+ Support CAD model creation and verify models and programs

+ Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

+ Drive continuous improvement, lean practices, and cost reduction initiatives

Compliance & Quality

+ Ensure all work meets company standards, policies, and procedures

+ Verify all required paperwork is completed accurately

+ Monitor quality of work and provide direction as needed

+ Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Leadership & Team Development

+ Lead, mentor, and support team members

+ Participate in hiring and onboarding processes

+ Manage employee performance and approve work hours

+ Identify and track training needs

+ Coach employees on tools, equipment, and job requirements

+ Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment

Additional Duties

+ Travel as needed to meet company or customer requirements

Minimum Qualifications

+ 10+ years of experience in CNC programming, setup, and operation (mills and lathes)

+ Leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, and performance management

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ Valid driver's license

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

+ Associate's degree in Manufacturing or related field

+

Experience with Mastercam, Solid Works, or other CAD/CAM software
