SummaryCreate a flexible high‑school program based on subject matter taught, foster a favorable learning environment, and establish rapport with students, parents, and staff.
Essential Functions- Teach courses in area of certification to secondary students using the Oklahoma Academic Standard curriculum.
- Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and district regulations.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional aids emphasizing discovery and laboratory learning as appropriate.
- Demonstrate concepts using models, chalkboard, projector, computers, or other approved aids.
- Provide individualized and small‑group instruction to adapt the curriculum to student needs.
- Administer grading fairly based on identified criteria.
- Maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere; treat students with respect and dignity.
- Evaluate academic growth, maintain records, and prepare progress reports.
- Select and requisition books, instructional aids, and supplies, and maintain inventory records.
- Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student progress.
- Identify student needs and collaborate with colleagues to address health, attitude, and learning problems.
- Establish rapport with students and provide a safe, orderly climate for learning.
- Administer group‑standardized tests per district testing programs.
- Participate in curriculum development and special projects as required.
- Supervise students in out‑of‑classroom activities during the assigned work day.
- All other duties as assigned by the administrator.

Education and Experience- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
- Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate
Computer literate; excellent written and oral communication; knowledge of district policies, regulations, and laws; ability to work independently and as a team member; accurate record‑keeping; manage confidential information; effective listening.
Language SkillsRead, analyze, and interpret English‑language texts, including scientific, technical, financial, and legal documents; respond to inquiries; present information to managers and the public.
Mathematical SkillsApply advanced mathematical concepts and operations for tasks such as frequency distribution, test validity analysis, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning AbilityUse common sense to carry out written and oral instructions; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Physical DemandsRegularly required to talk or hear; stand, sit, walk; occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds; vision requirements include close and color vision.
Work EnvironmentPrimarily inside the school; some exposure during outside duties; noise level usually moderate.
