Behavior Support Technician
Provides support to site staff and gives assistance to students with individual social, academic, behavioral and other needs. Under the direction of the site principal, provide behavior supports and interventions to students in 1:1 and group settings. Work with general education students and students with varying disabilities (autism, ADHD, developmental disabilities, etc.) and their teachers to support behavior interventions/strategies in the classroom setting.
Consistent implementation of environmental behavior interventions. Follows prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as instructed by the site principal. Effectively communicate with staff members and regarding student progress. Provides support for integration and success in the classroom setting. Accompanies and assists students with transition activities in the classroom and school setting. Utilizes safe and appropriate procedures when working with students.
Follows the legal and ethical standards of confidentiality of information. Develops cooperative and functional relationships with district staff and the public; maintains consistent and punctual attendance; ensures job responsibilities are met competently and within established deadlines. Participates in professional development and other training programs, as required. All other duties as assigned by the administrator.
