Position: Student Success Coach, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Most educators spend their time battling institutional inertia. Drafting lesson plans no one will review. Enduring staff meetings that produce no real change. You realized years ago that wasn't the actual work. The actual work is the student sitting in front of you.

At Alpha, academic instruction is handled by software. Adaptive applications guide each student through coursework at an individualized pace. No traditional lectures, no homework assignments, no grading papers. This design frees you to focus on what genuinely transforms lives: facilitating life skill workshops where high schoolers develop public speaking ability, concentration, and feedback literacy, then providing one‑on‑one coaching to maintain their motivation and achievement of learning targets.

Half your time is spent facilitating group sessions. The other half is spent in direct conversations with individual students, analyzing their Coachbot data to identify precise learning obstacles and root causes.

Students complete a mastery‑based assessment following each workshop you lead. 90%+ should rate your performance highly. 100% should demonstrate progress in their learning apps. These aren't stretch goals; they define the performance standard. Maintaining high expectations is how you communicate your belief in their potential. Throughout this work, you'll develop expertise in designing workshops that engage teenage learners, mastering advanced educational software, and forming meaningful relationships with students and their families.

Our Brownsville campus is located adjacent to Space

X. The cutting edge of education meets the cutting edge of space technology, and you'll be the person fulfilling Alpha's central promise: students who are excited about school, learn at twice the conventional rate, and acquire genuinely valuable skills. If you've been searching for a school that operates according to your vision of how education should function, you've found it.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Facilitating one‑hour life skill workshops for high school students covering subjects such as public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange, followed by measuring mastery via a structured Test2

    Pass assessment
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions that leverage Coachbot analytics to engage individual students, diagnose learning app obstacles, and help them overcome resistance
  • Co‑creating personalized motivational approaches with students, including reward systems and incentives that promote self‑directed advancement in their academic applications
  • Examining curriculum materials and lesson plans prior to each session, then adjusting your delivery approach based on group dynamics and engagement
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering academic content. Software manages mathematics, literacy, and all other subject instruction.
  • Overseeing school operations or supervising staff. No budget responsibilities, no recruitment, no administrative meetings; your complete attention is directed toward your student cohort.
  • Enforcing discipline through conventional authority structures. No detention assignments, no suspensions, no “because I said so.” You rely on reasoning and positive reinforcement to cultivate a respectful, energized learning environment.
