This position plays an integral part in advancing the mission and vision of the college by supporting daily operations, strengthening internal and external communications, and helping foster a collaborative and student-centered academic environment. Working closely with college leadership, faculty, staff, and students, this role helps coordinate initiatives that contribute to the overall success and growth of the college. Appointment:
This is a full-time, 12-month in-person faculty appointment. This position carries approximately 90% administrative release time; release time is negotiated annually with the Dean.

Reporting Structure:
The Associate Dean of Student Affairs reports directly to the Dean of the Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinates student recruitment and retention programs.

2. Manages enrollment services and admission policies and procedures. Coordinates enrollment process and updates as necessary.

3. Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of student support programs by providing strategic direction and support to assigned staff.

4. Develops long-term student affairs strategy, key initiatives, and goals that advance institutional mission and objectives.

5. Provides necessary administration for academic advising and counseling services.

6. In conjunction with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, monitors student records and works with appropriate entities for any indicated actions.

7. Provides enrollment and student data as necessary for the Dean of the college and accrediting/regulatory bodies.

8. Coordinates all student policies, procedures, and handbooks between the CON and the OUHC academic committees, Graduate College, and the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education.

9. In coordination with central Student Affairs, analyzes annual student satisfaction data and leads college response with strategies to improve student experience.

10. In coordination with Student Accommodations services, assists with services to students with disabilities.

11. Under the direction of the Dean of the College of Nursing, oversees planning for college student-related events such as White Coat Ceremony, annual convocation, and other events.

12. Devises solutions to complex strategic and operational challenges requiring coordination across multiple academic and administrative areas in support of student success.

13. Develops, administers, and manages budgets in assigned areas of responsibility, including allocation of resources following approval, expenditure oversight, and reporting to the Dean and other stakeholders.

14. Develops workforce plans, evaluating hiring, retention, and professional development needs for academic program staff and faculty.

15. Manages, trains, and provides oversight to office staff.

16. Advises the Dean and senior leadership on student-related matters, influencing institutional decisions and supporting campus policy implementation.

17. Serves as a designee to the Dean, as needed.

18. Participates on various committees within the college and on campus. Oversees student participation on various committees.

19. Analyzes academic program trends, peer institution benchmarks, and regulatory developments to guide strategic planning, innovation, and continuous improvement.

20. Engages with external stakeholders, including accrediting bodies, government agencies, and community organizations, to enhance academic impact and institutional reach.

21. Conducts regular assessment of program outcomes and service delivery to improve effectiveness and student success.

22. Plans, organizes, administers, and manages operations related to assigned areas, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations.
