Utica Park Clinic, founded in 1982, is a multi‑specialty medical group with more than 300 employed physicians and advanced practice providers representing over 25 specialties across 80+ clinics in Oklahoma.

Day‑in‑the‑Life of a Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant provides superior patient care and performs administrative and delegated clinical tasks that support patients in a clinic‑based environment as part of a care team led by the physician and/or advanced practice provider.

  • Enters, maintains, and reports all medical history, medical coding, and files claims using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Supports patient visits by greeting patients, escorting them to exam rooms, taking vital signs, and gathering applicable medical information to support the reason for the visit and recommended treatment.
  • Sterilizes and prepares medical instruments; ensures exam rooms are disinfected, orderly, and ready for incoming patients; provides patients with privacy, comfort, safety, and hygiene.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory and stocking supplies, instruments, and equipment for all exam rooms.
  • Maintains appropriate paperwork for inventory control and reviews orders received for completeness.
  • Handles referrals and insurance authorizations, and coordinates prescription, x‑ray, or lab requisitions with pharmacies, hospitals, and labs.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred

Job Requirements
  • Associate’s degree.
  • Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program or two years of MA experience.
  • Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
