Overview
Our client is a large, complex and purpose-driven organisation operating across multiple legal entities based on the outskirts of Lincoln, with 2 days office based. Due to an internal secondment, they are seeking an accomplished finance leader to join the organisation on a 9–12 month fixed-term contract, providing critical leadership during an important period for the finance function.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this is a highly visible leadership role at the heart of the organisation’s finance function. You will take ownership of group financial reporting, statutory accounts, financial governance and the successful delivery of the year-end audit, whilst leading an established team of finance professionals responsible for the organisation’s accounting operations.
Responsibilities- Own group financial reporting, statutory accounts, financial governance and the successful delivery of the year-end audit.
- Lead a team responsible for month-end reporting, balance sheet integrity and financial controls, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and high performance.
- Oversee complex group consolidations across multiple legal entities and manage relationships with external auditors and regulators.
- Provide financial leadership to a commercial subsidiary, partnering with operational leaders on budgeting, forecasting and business performance.
- Oversee financial reporting for joint venture partnerships.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with significant experience in a complex, multi-entity environment.
- Proven track record in statutory reporting and year-end processes, managing external audits and delivering group consolidations to a high standard.
- Strong technical understanding of UK GAAP (FRS
102) and ability to build credibility quickly and influence stakeholders at all levels. - Engaging and supportive leader with experience managing and developing finance teams; collaborative, commercially aware and proactive with a drive to improve processes and maintain high standards.
This is a senior leadership role with immediate impact, reporting to the Finance Director. It involves leading an experienced team and partnering with senior stakeholders across the organisation during a significant period for financial stewardship. The role is a 9–12 month fixed-term contract, with roughly 2 days per week in the office and the remainder flexible.
