Job Type Regular Compensation Job  DescriptionA Career with Purpose The Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) is looking for a Work Program Supervisor to mentor juveniles assigned to work programs and ensure the completion of maintenance projects. This role is essential in keeping our community’s common areas well-maintained and safe. The ideal candidate will have experience with lawn care and general building trades.

Basic Purpose The Work Program Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the agency's juvenile work program while maintaining the grounds and exterior appearance of the facility. This position provides direct supervision, mentoring, and guidance to juveniles assigned to the work program and ensures all assigned work projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with agency standards. The Work Program Supervisor performs and oversees routine grounds maintenance activities, assists with facility upkeep, and serves as a positive role model for youth participating in the program.

Key Responsibilities Supervises and monitors juveniles participating in the facility work program, ensuring accountability, safety, and appropriate conduct.

Provides instruction, mentoring, and hands-on training to juveniles in work assignments, workplace expectations, and life skills.

Plans, assigns, and oversees daily work projects and evaluates completion of assigned tasks.

Performs and directs grounds maintenance activities, including mowing, trimming, weed control, landscaping, and litter removal.

Maintains the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of facility grounds, outdoor recreational areas, and designated work sites.

Operates, inspects, and performs routine maintenance on lawn care equipment, hand tools, and other groundskeeping equipment.

Assists with basic facility maintenance projects, minor repairs, painting, and general upkeep as assigned.

Ensures compliance with agency policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulations while conducting work program activities.

Maintains records, prepares reports, and communicates with facility leadership regarding work program operations, youth participation, and maintenance needs.

Other Duties Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.

Ability to multi-task and adapt to demanding and changing timelines.

Ability to maintain a high degree of discretion, integrity and sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment while building strong relationships with all levels of staff and effectively collaborating, communicating, respecting, and assisting peers.

Compensation Annual Salary: $45,000

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of one year of experience in general construction work in the building trades, lawn care or gardening.

Special Requirements Applicants must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position.

Must be able to pass OSBI and FBI background check.

A trial period of 12 months will be required.
