Seasonal parks and field staff assist with general landscaping of city parks and athletic fields plus related work assignments under the supervision of full-time Parks and Recreation Department Staff.

• Groundskeeping functions, including mowing, weeding, trimming, mulching, edging, and other landscaping duties in city parks and on public grounds
• Attend the Sunny Lake Park Boathouse, including renting boats and equipment, selling concessions, cleaning park restrooms and ensuring the safety of all visitors
• Attend the Kiwanis-Moore Park Snack Shack, including selling concessions, cleaning park restrooms, monitoring Aurora Splash Pad and other park amenities, and ensuring the safety of all visitors
• Operate and maintain light vehicles, large mowers, equipment, and landscaping tools
• Maintenance of athletic fields
• Assist with special city‑wide events
• Weekend and holiday work required
• Other tasks as assigned
• Personal Protective Equipment will be provided and must be used as directed

General knowledge of landscaping and equipment operation preferred; ability to work independently; ability to work with the public; good judgment; prompt and reliable attendance. Must be able to physically operate equipment and complete duties in a safe manner.

Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s licence with a safe driving record. Must have completed a minimum of a 10th grade education with one (1) year experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
