Material Handler - 1st Shift

Job Purpose

Performs the movement of materials within departments as well as between departments in a fast‑paced environment.

• Transport product and material to appropriate work areas in a timely and safe manner.
• Pick parts orders, package parts, or fill parts bins on assembly lines.
• Disperse parts, fixtures, and materials within and between departments as assigned by the supervisor.
• Document delivery of all items.
• Place stock in designated areas and verify accuracy of part number, quantity, location, and material transactions.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scales.
• Maintain accurate inventory records.
• Perform cycle counts and audits to maintain high inventory accuracy.
• Use visual controls to replenish parts, maintain inventory levels, and identify potential shortages.
• Notify the supervisor of any procedural or equipment errors to uphold safety, inventory accuracy, and productivity.
• Locate inventory locations and execute inventory move transactions.
• Complete all transactions within Oracle accurately and timely.
• Assist operators in delivering parts to maximize departmental efficiency.
• Interact daily with manufacturing personnel, materials, receiver, and shipping departments.
• Provide daily support to inventory and production control functions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and aisles by disposing waste, cardboard, and pallets appropriately.
• Perform other production duties as assigned.

• Basic counting, adding, and subtracting.
• Attention to detail and time management.
• Ability to work independently and safely in a fast‑paced team environment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Motivated self‑starter.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• 3–5 years of relevant experience, including 1 year in a manufacturing environment.
• Forklift certification.
• Database knowledge and Microsoft Excel experience.
• Cycle‑counting experience.
• RF scanning device experience.

• Lift/carry up to 10 lbs. constantly, product weighing up to 35 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. rarely.
• Product over 50 lbs. is lifted with a two‑person assist or a lift assist.
• Stand for extended periods.
• Frequent hand and finger use to pick parts and grip objects, tools, scanner, etc.
• Occasional crouching, kneeling, bending, stooping, and reaching forward and overhead>
• Bending, twisting/turning, pushing/pulling, and grasping tools as necessary.
• Operate powered equipment listed in the Equipment Used section below.
• Work area can be noisy.

• Material handling equipment such as RF scanner, stand‑up and/or sit‑down forklifts, pallet jacks, bander, pallets, common hand tools, trash and cardboard compactors, scale, and computer terminal.

• Competitive base wage between $20.00 and $23.88 per hour, with eligibility for overtime and production bonus plan.
