Position OverviewSupport efficient palletizing and material flow by maintaining equipment, ensuring quality standards, and assisting with warehouse operations to keep production running smoothly.
Duties And Responsibilities- Maintain a steady supply of materials to machines and ensure all materials meet quality standards.
- Ensure pallets are properly aligned and clear any jams.
- Sort pallet inventory and separate defective pallets.
- Perform electronic forklift inspection at the start of each shift.
- Refill strappers with banding material and monitor pallet flow through lower conveying; check and document band tension once per shift.
- Inspect and transport finished pallets to the warehouse; report any defects.
- Replace missing cans or bands on pallets before moving them to the warehouse, notify palletizer operator of discrepancies.
- Maintain cleanliness in the lower conveying area.
- Assist in other areas to support smooth can flow through the plant.
- Scan all production to the correct bay and ensure P.O. numbers are accurate.
- Complete daily cleaning tasks and sign off on the checklist.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum 6 months of forklift operation with at least 75% of the workday operating the forklift.
- Able to read and understand date codes and pallet tickets; create and apply pallet tickets.
- Ability to learn overall can making process (can sizes, lacquer finishes and pack sizes) and all quality requirements with finished goods and raw materials.
- Basic data entry skills.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate clearly with all team members.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of applicable safety regulations, reinforcing a culture where safety is the top priority.
- Packaging industry experience.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing.
