Job DescriptionPosition Overview
Maintain an efficient, timely and appropriate supply of parts and equipment needed to maintain the plant’s operating capability.
Duties And Responsibilities- Identify vendors and create purchase requisitions to get necessary supplies, parts, or equipment based on requirements.
- Inspect incoming parts, stock inventory, and distribute items as needed.
- Resolve issues with vendors regarding damaged or incorrect shipments.
- Monitor inventory to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Enter inventory data into the computer to track inventory levels, usage and costs. Supply required inventory data to Plant Accountant in preparation of budget and expense reports.
- When requested, pick up parts from local vendors and transport them back to plant.
- Maintain the parts storage area in a clean and organized condition.
- Performs other job‑related duties as required or assigned.
- Basic knowledge of computer data base, inventory management systems, and mathematical skills.
- Mechanical aptitude to understand various parts/equipment specifications, such as thread patterns, part dimensions, bore sizes, etc. to ensure accuracy of orders.
- Ability to use standard measuring devices such as rulers and calipers.
- Effective communication skills dealing with Team Members and vendors in completing the timely and accurate delivery of parts and supplies.
- Competency, desire, and ability to learn the can manufacturing process and the make/model of the major plant machinery.
- Knowledge of safety regulations which apply to work functions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Must be able to look at new solutions and “think outside the box.”
