Fabrication Lead
We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Lead to provide hands-on leadership within our fabrication department while helping produce high-quality HVAC equipment. This role is ideal for a skilled fabricator who enjoys mentoring others, driving productivity, ensuring safety, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. As a Fabrication Lead, you will work alongside your team, coordinate daily activities, and help ensure products are completed on time, safely, and according to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily work direction and support to fabrication team members.
- Communicate and reinforce production priorities established by the supervisor.
- Assist in resolving workflow, scheduling, equipment, and production issues.
- Train and mentor employees on fabrication processes and best practices.
- Provide performance feedback to the Production Supervisor.
- Serve as backup for other department leads as needed.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Fabricate large sheet metal HVAC equipment and casings according to blueprints and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and Bills of Material.
- Coordinate product movement and support on-time delivery goals.
- Ensure work is completed efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
- Identify and address production issues before they impact quality or delivery.
- Accurately complete required production and inventory documentation.
Required Education &
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of HVAC fabrication experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving decimals and fractions.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Formal fabrication training.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with HVAC equipment manufacturing.
