Job Overview

Welder – Owatonna, MN. Full-time, Direct-Hire. Starting at $24.00-$28.50 per hour depending on experience.

Working Hours

7:30 PM – 6:00 AM (Various shifts available).

Responsibilities
  • Perform MIG welding on parts and frames, ensuring all work meets engineering standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics to determine the correct welding processes and follow standard welding symbols.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of completed welds to maintain strict quality and structural integrity standards.
  • Handle a variety of duties including welding, grinding, and repairing welded assemblies on raw steel.
  • Accurately complete and submit all required reports and documents on time.
  • Operate hoists safely to position parts for welding.
  • Effectively communicate any production issues or concerns to your supervisor.
  • Adhere to all company safety rules and regulations.
Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A technical high school degree in the welding field.
  • At least one (1) year of welding experience in a production environment (manual or robotic).
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in production MIG welding.
Education

No degree required.

Experience

1–4 years.

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in setting up and using MIG welding equipment, oxyacetylene torches, sanders, grinders, and other hand tools.
  • Knowledge of and experience with operating and reading measurement devices.
  • All applicants must pass a GMAW skills test, which includes a single-pass weld on a 1/8  steel butt vertical down.
  • Attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to safety.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential for maintaining production schedules.
