Job Details

0.8 FTE – Day/Eve Shift.

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA): Starting Pay $20.57 to $30.86 (experience)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Starting Pay $23.85 to $35.78 (experience)
  • Registered Nurse (RN): Starting Pay $35.01 to $52.52 (experience)

Offers to external candidates are generally made between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on experience.

CMA Qualifications
  • Completion of Medical Assistant program
  • Certified (CMA) or Registered MA (RMA)
  • BLS certification
  • Previous clinic experience preferred
CMA Responsibilities
  • Participates in patient care under supervision of physician, podiatrist, PA, NP, and with RN and the healthcare team.
  • Greets and welcomes patients; escorts to exam rooms.
  • Collects and documents patient information, clinical data, vital signs, and other relevant data.
  • Confirms and clarifies orders prior to implementation of delegated tasks.
  • Prepares, administers, and documents oral and injectable medications and vaccines per provider orders.
  • Collects, prepares, and processes laboratory specimens for testing.
  • Performs x‑rays, EKGs, and prepares for procedures; schedules procedures, referrals, and specialty services.
  • Maintains aseptic techniques and infection control when performing clinical duties.
  • Provides age‑specific patient education, health information, and community resources; refers to RN as needed.
  • Performs time‑sensitive delegated tasks such as prescription refill requests and EHR messages.
  • Ensures smooth patient flow and efficient clinical operation.
  • Orders, stocks, and maintains supplies, monitors expiration dates, and recommends adjustments.
  • Maintains OMC organization and nursing competencies pertinent to area of practice.
  • Manages information in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • May not administer IM Rho Gam or IM Narcotics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
LPN Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing
  • Current Minnesota LPN license required
  • BLS certification
  • Previous clinic experience preferred
LPN Responsibilities
  • Conducts a focused assessment of a patient’s health status.
  • Reports changes in health status and responses to interventions to RN or appropriate provider.
  • Participates with other providers in developing and modifying a plan of care.
  • Determines and implements appropriate interventions within a nursing plan or when delegated/assigned by an RN.
  • Implements interventions that are delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed provider.
  • Assigns nursing activities to other LPNs.
  • Assigns and monitors tasks for unlicensed assistive personnel.
  • Provides safe and effective nursing care delivery.
  • Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Advocates for the best interest of the patient.
  • Assists in evaluating responses to interventions.
  • Collaborates and communicates with other healthcare providers.
  • Provides healthcare information to patients.
  • Contributes input into the development of policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for quality of care, recognizing limits of knowledge, and addressing situations beyond competency.
  • Maintains OMC Organization and Nursing competencies relevant to area of practice.
  • Manages information per state and federal regulations.
  • Communicates effectively.
  • Other duties as assigned.
RN Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited professional nursing program
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification (applicable to specified clinics)
  • Minimum one year nursing experience preferred
RN Responsibilities
  • Provides a comprehensive assessment of a patient’s health status to establish baseline and plan of care.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and coordinate an integrated plan of care.
  • Develops nursing interventions to include in the plan of care.
  • Implements nursing care through independent actions.
  • Implements interventions delegated, ordered, or prescribed by a licensed provider.
  • Delegates nursing tasks or assigns activities to implement the plan.
