Role Overview
This RN position involves working directly with Neurosurgeons, primarily with adult patients, including some pediatric coverage. Key duties include surgically listing patients, pre- and post-operative teaching, and telephone triage/telethealth follow-up. The RN is responsible for coordinating nursing care, patient/family education, and transitions of care, supporting professional nursing practices across settings.
Responsibilities- Deliver direct patient care and education
- Support nursing practice across the care continuum
- Participate in quality improvement, mentoring, and leadership activities
- Delegate patient care based on skill, experience, and resources
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- At least one year of RN experience; neuro or surgical experience preferred
- Current RN license, BLS certification, and additional state or specialty licenses as needed
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills
- BSN preferred; previous experience with neuro care advantageous
