Job Description

Summary of Position: Maintenance Tech II will be responsible for repairing and maintaining all packaging and manufacturing equipment within the facility. You will be working cross functionally with other departments helping with daily equipment set‑up and organization of working areas. You will assist senior technicians with repairs and troubleshooting as assigned.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to maintain correct logs of all routine maintenance, upgrades, tests, and repairs.
  • Utilize growing software to assist Growers in correcting alarms as they occur.
  • Perform both time and condition based preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of all greenhouse systems.
  • Project based work including upgrades, renovations, construction, welding, and fabrication.
  • Assist senior technicians with repair and troubleshooting of automated equipment, and building systems.
  • Assist with daily rounds and equipment monitoring throughout the facility.
  • Operate all equipment safely adhering to all OSHA guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate in both written and verbal formats at all levels in and outside the Company (Vendors, Manufacturers, colleagues, teammates, leadership and front‑line employees) using various methods (such as Microsoft Teams, email, phone, text).
  • Wear necessary PPE to perform all tasks and protect self, product and others.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and ensure areas are clean and free of debris after repairs.
  • Report in event of emergency repairs.
  • Work at elevated heights.
  • Assist and perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Ability to stand, squat, or kneel for extended periods of time.
  • Repetitive arm, shoulder, and hand movement throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, parts diagrams, and engineering drawings to troubleshoot and repair equipment issues.
  • Strong motivation, organization, time management, documentation, and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to fabricate temporary repairs or install new equipment.
  • Skilled in stick and TIG welding.
Education and Experience:
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Forklift certification, preferred.
  • Two years of maintenance experience preferred.
  • One year of experience working with heavy equipment and/or irrigation systems preferred.
  • Willingness to train in building automation (Priva) and maintenance management system Fiix, with classes provided and completion required within 90 days of onboarding.
Supervisory:
  • This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:

Greenhouse, 45%

  • Temperatures vary with the outside weather.
  • Climate can range from hot and humid to cold depending on the location and time of year.
  • PPE must be worn at all times.

Packhouse, 45%

  • Temperatures between 34-38 °F to preserve product quality.
  • PPE must be worn at all times.

Data Viewing/Entry, 10%

Standard office setting with computer usage for research, data entry, and communication.

Physical Requirements:
  • Constantly ascending/descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc.
  • Occasionally moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in tight and confined spaces.
  • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 lbs in all directions.
  • Occasionally performing heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 lbs or more.
  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools.
  • Occasionally operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
