Electrician

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Electrician in Owatonna, MN. The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety procedures, the ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams, and experience working independently or as part of a team in a service environment.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $20 to $35 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

• Install, bend, and remove conduit to accommodate wiring needs for service projects.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate installations.
• Pull electrical wiring through conduit and connect it to circuit breakers, transformers, and outlets.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including conduit, lighting fixtures, electrical panels, transformers, switches, and motors.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform corrective actions to minimize system downtime.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and safety standards.
• Document work performed and maintain accurate maintenance records and equipment logs.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in electrical installations, supported by an apprenticeship or equivalent background.
• Possession of necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and basic hand tools.
• Dependable and punctual, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comprehensive knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
• Reliable transportation to reach job sites in the Owatonna area.
• Ability to work effectively in a contract-based service environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
• Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and poles.
• Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.
• Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
• Must be aware of OSHA safety standards and maintain situational awareness.
• Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
• Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $20 to $35 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
