Switchboard Operator – Switchboard #414-26

Position title:

switchboard operator  department: switchboard  position location: owen sound  union affiliation: opseu – clerical  status: part-time reason to post: direct replacement  wage rate: $25.900 - $27.915  reporting to the manager, registration and switchboard, the switchboard operator is responsible for answering and directing incoming telephone calls to the brightshores hospitals. Duties include but are not limited to: all paging services (overhead and spok messenger);

parking lot(s) entry and exit gates; visitor information. This position also responds to contingency codes and alarms, monitors alarms, and various clerical duties as assigned. This position is required to work all shifts 24/7.
Qualifications / skills / abilities:
high school diploma and relevant business office experience and/or equivalent business education
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Patient-service focused
Ability to multi-task
Availability to work all shifts
Experience working on a switchboard preferred
Knowledge of microsoft office applications word (to be tested)
Typing speed of 30 wpm (to be tested)
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
