Campeon is seeking a motivated Accounting Intern to join our dynamic team in Athens, Attica. This full‑time position is designed for individuals eager to gain hands‑on experience in the accounting field. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our finance professionals, assisting in various accounting tasks while contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

What you’ll do
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
  • Help maintain the general ledger by recording journal entries and reconciling accounts.
  • Participate in month‑end closing activities, including preparing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with team members to conduct financial audits and assist in the preparation of audit schedules.
  • Contribute to the development of financial forecasts and budgets by providing relevant data and insights.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Engage in various ad‑hoc projects as assigned by the accounting team, providing valuable insights and assistance.
  • Utilize accounting software and tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements and best practices.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the company's financial policies and procedures to ensure adherence.
  • Build relationships with other departments to facilitate effective communication and collaboration on financial matters.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Previous internship or work experience in an accounting or finance role is advantageous but not mandatory.
Nice to have
  • Familiarity with local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with financial reporting tools or software.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Participation in relevant extracurricular activities or accounting clubs.
