William Paterson University invites applications for Adjunct Faculty within the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences in the Department of Language, Literature, Culture and Writing’s World Language Program.
Courses taught by adjunct faculty include, but are not limited to:
- Basic and/or Intermediate Spanish
- Basic and/or Intermediate French
- Basic and/or Intermediate Arabic
- Basic and/or Intermediate Italian
- Basic Chinese
- Basic Korean
The Department of Language, Literature, Culture, and Writing is committed to preparing students to respond to the growing demand for employees who can function in a multi‑cultural, multi‑lingual global environment. A BA degree from William Paterson provides students with this competency, while a MEd degree and associated certifications prepare graduates for teaching careers in New Jersey.
Duties and Responsibilities- Using the course outline as a guide, develop relevant syllabi to deploy course content, objectives, and methods of student assessment for up to six (6) credits per semester in assigned undergraduate or MEd course(s).
- Contribute to student success by providing consistent and effective support and guidance through role modeling and mentoring.
Required qualifications:
- Earned Master’s degree in Spanish, French, Arabic, Italian, basic Chinese, or basic Korean.
Preferred qualifications:
- One or more years teaching in higher education.

New employees - $2100/CREDIT
Employees who have worked for 13+ semesters at WP - $2175/CREDIT
