North Oldham Middle School is seeking an innovative and student-centered teacher to join our two-teacher Paxton/Patterson Career Lab team. Working alongside an experienced partner teacher, you will engage middle school students in hands‑on, career-focused learning experiences that spark curiosity, build problem‑solving skills, and expose students to a wide variety of future career pathways. This unique position is a great fit for educators from a variety of certification areas who are passionate about project‑based learning, collaboration, and inspiring students through real‑world, career‑connected experiences.

Job Type: Certified Job Class Code:2010 (preschool), 2025 (Kindergarten), 2040 (elementary), 2050 (middle), 2060 (high)
Position Type:
Salary Reports to:Building Level Principal
Terms of Employment:
Compensation will be determined by the Superintendent based on 187 contract days and appropriate board-approved teacher salary schedule.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in the specific field of education for which a job is sought.
- Certification:Valid state teaching license or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience: Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.
- Skills:Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Attributes:A positive attitude, a growth mindset, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- Curriculum & Instruction: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state and district standards.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment that encourages respect, collaboration, and critical thinking.
- Assessment:Administer various formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
- Parent‑Teacher Communication: Regularly communicate with parents and guardians to discuss student performance, share successes, and address concerns.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, school staff, and administrators to support the school's mission and goals.
- Professional Development: Actively participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with best practices in education.
- Other duties as assigned by school administration.
