Classroom Management Educational Technology Project-Based Learning/STEM# Description Lawrence County Joint Vocational School District is seeking a passionate and student-centered High School Science Teacher for the  school year. This position serves students in a career-technical setting by delivering engaging science instruction that supports both academic achievement and career readiness. The successful candidate will collaborate with career technical instructors, build strong relationships with students, and create a classroom environment that promotes curiosity, problem-solving, and real-world application of science concepts.

The ideal candidate demonstrates flexibility, professionalism, and a commitment to helping students succeed in both academics and career pathways. Experience integrating hands-on learning, technology, and student engagement strategies is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or related field
* Valid Ohio teaching license in Science (Integrated Science preferred) or ability to obtain.
* Demonstrated knowledge of science content, instructional strategies, and curriculum development
* Ability to create engaging classroom and laboratory learning experiences
* Understanding of student learning styles and differentiated instruction
* Ability to collaborate with career technical instructors and academic staff
* Experience using educational technology and classroom management systems preferred
* Understanding of and experience implementing IEP accommodations and supports preferred
* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
* Meets all health requirements mandated by law
* Successfully passes BCI/FBI background check as required by Board policy##

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience teaching high school science courses
* Experience working in a career-technical or STEM-focused environment
* Ability to integrate hands-on and project-based learning strategies
* Experience with industry partnerships, workforce readiness, or career-connected learning
* Master’s degree or additional science certifications preferred
* Willingness to support student organizations, CTSOs, or extracurricular activities#

Job Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging science instruction aligned to Ohio learning standards
* Develop lesson plans, assessments, and classroom activities that support student learning and career readiness
* Collaborate with career technical instructors to connect science concepts to workforce applications
* Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
* Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
* Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
* Participate in IEP meetings and support accommodations for students with special needs
* Utilize educational technology and hands-on learning strategies to improve student engagement
* Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and district initiatives
* Maintain accurate records and complete required reports in a timely manner
