Preschool Teacher

Owensboro Catholic Schools is seeking a Preschool Teacher. The ideal candidate will be energetic, well‑organized, and skilled at problem‑solving, with strong written and verbal communication abilities. A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting early childhood education is essential. The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, faith‑filled, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.

• Provides developmentally appropriate care and education to children (up to five years old) in learning activities designed to promote emotional, social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual growth needed for primary school.
• Plans and organizes classroom activities.
• Plans and implements engaging, age‑appropriate lessons aligned with early childhood best practices and school curriculum.
• Observes and assesses student development and communicates progress with parents/guardians.
• Integrates Catholic values, traditions, and teachings into daily classroom activities.
• Maintains classroom structure, routines, and positive behavior expectations.
• Collaborates with school staff, administration, and families to support student success.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field required.
• Prior experience working with preschool‑aged children preferred.
• Practicing Catholic preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25–40 pounds.
• Ability to actively engage with young children (sitting, standing, kneeling, and playing).

The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check and complete safe environment training for the Diocese of Owensboro before employment can be granted.
