Kentucky Wesleyan College will launch a new MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, and we’re seeking a dynamic counselor educator to join our team to help launch the program. This is a full-time, tenure-track Counselor Educator position starting August 2027. Opportunities for summer teaching are also available. The MAC Program Assistant Professor will work under the direction of the MAC Program Director and the Provost.

Teaching
:
Teach three graduate level clinical counseling courses/semester. The successful candidate will serve as our Field Placement Coordinator and will be responsible for teaching Techniques, Practicum and Internship. A summer contract will be available for teaching additional courses if desired. Additional responsibilities will include developing and maintaining competence with web assisted teaching technology.

Student Advisement, Recruitment, Selection and Evaluation
:
Advise MAC students, assist with recruitment of qualified students, assist with new student orientation, and serve on program committees for admissions and remediation to assess student progress throughout the program.

CACREP Accreditation
:
The successful candidate will assist in the CACREP accreditation process including participation with conducting and writing the self-study, implementing and maintaining CACREP standards, and participation in ongoing program assessment.

Scholarship
:
The successful candidate will develop and maintain a program of scholarship in their area of interest/expertise.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements include a Doctorate in Counselor Education, preferably from a CACREP program. Must be eligible for the counselor licensure in Kentucky. Our expectation is that the successful candidate will obtain licensure by the end of their second year. Experience in teaching, counseling, and clinical supervision of counselors-in-training is preferred, but ABD candidates will be considered.
