Position Title
Automation Maintenance Specialist
General Purpose of RoleCoordinate maintenance department activities and projects.
Essential Functions of the RoleProject Coordination & Technical Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate all plant and facility projects related to electrical controls, networking, maintenance, and other assigned facility projects.
- Manage project design, cost estimation, contractor coordination, project administration, and cost control.
- Oversee installation and scheduling of equipment, ensuring drawings and documentation are updated.
- Maintain electrical power systems, controls, and distribution.
- Manage plant equipment assets, including equipment selection, construction coordination, and installation.
- Track and control maintenance inventory.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and achievement of maintenance and facility goals.
Manage and support the following systems and equipment:
- Telesis systems (repairs and troubleshooting)
- Rockwell software platforms
- Security camera systems
- Zebra printer/scanner maintenance and repair
- Primary power transformer testing and maintenance
- Infrared scans
- Andon boards
- Energy management and sustainability initiatives
- I‑Gear MES system
- ODIX implementation
- Plant radio system and FCC licensing
- Program and troubleshoot HMI systems using Allen Bradley Factory Talk Studio.
- Program ladder logic using Allen Bradley Logix 500 and Logix 5000.
- Configure controls components including VFDs, servo drives, robot controllers, machine vision systems, and field I/O racks.
- Troubleshoot control systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose electrical distribution systems, power supplies, motors, drives, and motor control centers.
- Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and documentation for custom machines and systems.
- Use PLC, HMI, and data collection systems to analyze equipment performance.
- Provide problem‑solving support for maintenance and engineering teams.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of industrial networking.
- Associate degree in related field and 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing, or 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing (automotive preferred)
- 2–5 years Automation/Controls manufacturing experience (automotive preferred)
- Able to work any shift with overtime, possibly on short notice
