Process Engineer - Owensboro KY Responsibilities
- Analyze assigned areas and recommend strategies for optimal utilization of materials, labor, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable PMI and legal standards, policies, and guidelines related to Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability to prevent personnel, asset, or societal loss.
- Promote an interdependent and transparent safety culture by fostering preventive and predictive approaches aligned with Operational Excellence systems.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support production and cross‑functional teams on product quality, processes, and systems, ensuring adherence to standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide instruction and training to employees, ensuring safe working habits are established and maintained.
- Manage technical and scientific knowledge related to production (product, process, and systems) to consistently support operations and maintain expertise.
- Develop and review documentation for production processes (e.g., process flow diagrams, risk assessments, control points) and deliver training to hourly and salaried employees as needed.
- Assist in the development and integration of new machinery into production processes.
- Drive cost‑reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality.
- Implement new technologies and proven systems to reduce process variation and enhance departmental performance.
- Investigate non‑conformities and trends promptly, identify root causes, and implement preventive/corrective actions with proper follow‑up and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) processes and procedures.
- Lead, coordinate, and participate in complex process/system projects from definition through implementation and post‑project monitoring.
- Create and maintain documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and production data management.
- Work a flexible schedule and spend time across all 24/7 shifts as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of contractual obligations with the Union and conduct operations in alignment with Company/Union relations.
- Lead or participate in special project teams to improve factory performance and implement global initiatives.
- Act as SME for Global Centers of Excellence (CoE) teams and provide support during internal and external audits.
- Perform additional tasks, projects, and initiatives as assigned by management.
- Take ownership of personal training and development plans, ensuring compliance with established requirements.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing, Robotics, or a related field preferred. Equivalent technical experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. - Experience:
Minimum of 2–3 years in manufacturing or a related technical environment preferred; demonstrated ability to lead and work collaboratively with teams to accomplish objectives; experience in scheduling work, training team members, and implementing corrective actions when necessary. - Key Competencies &
Skills:
Strong communication and coaching abilities; detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); process design and optimization mindset; working knowledge of scope, schedule, and cost estimation for projects; hands‑on work ethic with a continuous improvement approach; commitment to process safety and compliance; critical thinking and troubleshooting skills;
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) expertise for problem‑solving; familiarity with CAD and simulation tools is a plus. - Specialized Knowledge:
Continuous improvement methodology and mindset; strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and corrective action experience; knowledge of powder processing and/or packaging equipment is highly desirable; solid foundational computer skills; working knowledge of AB/Rockwell software for troubleshooting is a significant advantage. - Required:
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Annual Base Salary Range: $88,000 – $110,000.
