Job Overview
This position is responsible for leading, overseeing, and completing all engineering aspects of major capital projects related to the design, development, and execution of natural gas facilities. The Engineer coordinates with project team members and third‑party contract resources to effectively oversee design related investments and improvements. The Engineer works independently to complete their tasks and ensures other team members’ design work is on track;
this includes drafting, land, environmental, contracts, procurement, third‑party engineering, and fabrication inspection. The Engineer uses a variety of programs to track design progress, size equipment, order material, and report to management on significant variances in estimated budget and/or schedules. Design tasks include pipeline, measurement, regulation, compression, storage, and other related gas transmission and storage equipment and facilities. The Engineer relies on established guidelines and specifications, and work experience and company training familiarize the employee with processes, procedures, guidelines, regulations, and policies.
The role may be assigned to a structured training program to provide interdisciplinary experience. The Engineer demonstrates professional conduct and business ethics.

- Lead and oversee all engineering aspects of major capital projects
- Supervise the work of internal/external resources to ensure quality and quantity of work
- Provide mechanical engineering design deliverables for projects, including scopes, estimates, design forms, construction workspace drawings, easement exhibits, site layouts, mechanical construction drawings, and fabrication drawings
- Size, specify, and order all mechanical equipment and materials for various natural gas projects
- Collaborate with Business Development, Customer Solutions, and Legal to develop contractual construction, ownership, and operating agreements with external customers
- Provide mechanical engineering technical support, troubleshooting, and problem solving for operating issues relating to pipeline, measurement, regulation, compression, storage, and other related gas transmission and storage equipment and facilities
- Review, develop and implement company design standards and specifications
- Research and analyze technical data, industry specifications and standards, and vendor manuals to determine feasibility of design and/or application
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of relevant technologies
- Participate in company and industry studies and projects to enhance overall safety, reliability, and efficiency of gas transmission and storage systems
- Serve as company liaison at community events and volunteer efforts
- Provide general guidance and direction to others based on design experience
- Serve as a mentor, coach, or trainer for less experienced engineers
- Represent management in coordinating activities and communicating technical policies and procedures
- Serve as a company subject matter expert for specific natural gas engineering fields

- Possess a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering (or a relevant engineering discipline) from an ABET‑Accredited engineering program
- Have 8 years of experience in design engineering or a related field
- Hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable
- Be able to work in both an open office environment and outside in varied weather conditions
