About the Role

7 17 Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented Central Loan Processor to support our lending operations and deliver an excellent member experience. In this position, you will communicate loan decisions, gather required documentation, prepare loan closing packages, and ensure proper and timely disbursal of loan funds. You will also work closely with internal teams, third-party vendors, and members to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient loan processing.

Key Responsibilities Primary Duties
  • Contact members to communicate loan decisions and explain next steps.
  • Collect additional information required by Underwriters or needed for loan closing.
  • Assist employees with questions related to lending, closing requirements, and title processing.
  • Input, verify, and update credit application information accurately.
  • Prepare and send loan closing documents via remote signature platforms.
  • Disburse loan funds and complete all required post-closing checklists.
  • Communicate with third parties (sellers, dealerships, financial institutions) to obtain documents for loan closings.
  • Review online loan applications for completeness prior to issuing final loan decisions.
  • Create, review, and audit loan documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with stipulations and underwriting conditions.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to member inquiries.
  • Contact members regarding balloon loan refinancing and Visa accounts over their credit limits.
  • Audit debt protection forms and system programming for accuracy; submit needed corrections.
  • Research out-of-state title requirements to ensure proper lien placement and complete closing documentation.
  • Assist with post-closing corrections, including tax adjustments, payoff discrepancies, and title updates.
  • Use required software applications and post financial transactions accurately.
  • Meet departmental, individual, and sales-related goals.
  • Follow Federal and State regulations, Board policies, and credit union procedures.
Secondary Duties
  • Support loan account setup and maintenance processes, including helpdesk tasks, lending reports, indirect loan funding, GL balancing, draft account balancing, and loan modifications.
  • Provide backup support to other loan production staff as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all member and credit union information.
Qualifications Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
  • Minimum 6 months of consumer lending experience within the past 3 years in:
  • Loan application intake
  • Loan processing
  • Loan closing
  • Underwriting
  • Loan servicing

Experience must be part of regular daily job responsibilities.

Additional Requirements
  • Acceptable score on an Excel assessment.
  • Strong accuracy and thoroughness in transaction processing.
  • Must obtain State Notary Commission within 90 days of hire.
