Speech Pathologist, Medical Specialist
As a Home Health Speech Language Pathologist
, you will:
- Evaluate, direct, and provide speech/language pathology services to patients in the home or facility.
- Participate in developing and periodically reviewing the Plan of Treatment and Plan of Care.
- Utilize professional skills and judgment to assess and treat disorders related to speech, voice, language, hearing, and swallowing, aiming to prevent, identify, evaluate, and minimize their effects.
- Administer and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic treatments, including audio logic screening.
- Observe, record, and report changes in the patient's condition and response to treatment to supervisors and/or physicians.
- Provide instruction and training to patients in the use of alternative communication systems when appropriate.
- Offer counsel and instruction to patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Maintain and submit documentation as required, including evaluations, visits, summaries, care plans, and progress reports.
- Participate in care coordination activities and discharge planning.
- Maintain confidentiality and share information only with authorized individuals for the patient's best interests.
- Attend and contribute to staff development programs and pursue continuing education as required.
Required Experience/
Skills:
- Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology from ASHA.
- Minimum of six months experience as a speech therapist or speech-language pathologist.
- Home health experience is a plus.
- Current, unrestricted license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
Pay ranges from $49.00 to $69.00 per visit/unit, with an annual base pay of $77,200 to $106,200, depending on location and experience. Benefits include paid time off, 401(k), medical, dental, vision, wellness rewards, and more, for both full-time and part-time roles.
