AWS is looking for a Network Deploy Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
The position’s responsibilities include scaling support of several data center locations, day‑to‑day capacity management, and providing management and support of AWS’ vast network infrastructure. You will work closely with internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Network Leadership and Technical Project Managers.
Responsibilities- Managing work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows to complete customer requests and projects
- Collaborating with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
- Troubleshooting networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords
- Specifying power and cooling requirements and ensuring hardware racking/stacking for new equipment
- Participating in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware
- Providing first‑level networking support for customer racks, tracking rack intake, and working with onsite teams to request rack space, power and cooling
- Assisting with console builds and room builds to expand capacity for customer racks
- Collaborating with ‑Scaling peers to build higher‑level networking devices
Your role requires traveling within and outside the regional work area. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license; company transportation is not provided.
Physical Requirements- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
- Work in a 24/7 environment with primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed
- Work in cramped, elevated, and/or noisy environments
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation
- 1+ years of computer networking experience
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience in computer networking and working with Linux operating systems
- Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
- Industry standard certification such as CompTIA, CCENT, or Network+, or relevant field experience
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools (telnet, test‑net connection, tracert, tracetcp, iperf, ntttcp, dig, and packet capture tools) and managing of network
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP
The base hourly salary for this position ranges from $30.00 to $54.00 USD, depending on location and experience.
