Epic Revenue Cycle Training Specialist

Job Summary:
Develops and provides services for Revenue Cycle departments, including education, training to staff and oversight of compliance and assessment of skills, and maintaining records.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops, coordinates, and delivers Epic and Revenue Cycle training programs for new and existing staff using adult learning principles, standardized curriculum, and competency-based instructional methods.
- Conducts classroom, virtual, one-on-one, and at-the-elbow training related to Epic applications, Revenue Cycle workflows, departmental operations, and integrated software solutions.
- Develops and maintains training materials, learning activities, competency assessments, and educational resources to support operational effectiveness and user proficiency.
- Utilizes Epic, Health Stream, and other available reporting tools to identify knowledge gaps, monitor training effectiveness, recommend coaching opportunities, and support continuous learning initiatives.
- Provides ongoing operational and application support to end users by addressing workflow questions, reinforcing standardized processes, and promoting effective use of Epic functionality.
- Recognizes varying learning styles and adapts instructional methods to meet individual and group training needs while fostering learner engagement and success.
- Collaborates with Information Technology, Revenue Cycle leaders, clinical and operational stakeholders, and Epic support teams to support training initiatives, workflow improvements, and system optimization efforts.
- Participates in the planning, implementation, and support of Epic, operational, and workflow-related projects as a representative of the Revenue Cycle Training Team.
- Assists with training administration activities, including training schedules, learning management systems, educational communications, reporting, and assigned departmental projects.
- Participates in Epic education team initiatives, instructional design efforts, team development activities, and problem-solving initiatives that enhance Revenue Cycle operations and end-user performance.
- Reviews application functionality, workflow processes, and system updates to ensure training content remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Serves as an advanced training resource for Revenue Cycle departments by providing consultation, coaching, and guidance related to Epic system utilization, workflow efficiency, and staff development.

Position Requirements:
Work Experience
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience as determined by the organization
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field, as determined by the organization required upon hire.
Additional Education Information
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Certified/Accredited through Epic Systems in one or more of the following applications;
Epic Care Ambulatory, Epic Care Urgent Care, Benefits Engine, Cadence, Grand Central, Hello World, Hospital Outpatient Department, MyChart, Payer Platform, Prelude, Referrals and Authorization, Resolute – Hospital Billing and Professional Billing, Training Environment and Documentation or Welcome required upon hire.
