Buying Senior Specialist Owensboro, KY

The Buyer/Planner manages the procurement and planning of materials to ensure inventory supports production needs.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Monitor developments related to materials and supplies and recommend opportunities to reduce costs and improve processes
- Provide Quality and Procurement with feedback on supplier performance
- Forecast raw material requirements six months to one year in advance
- Place blanket orders to maintain supply, secure pricing based on purchase agreements and volumes, and support target inventory levels and performance measures
- Prepare purchasing analyses and cost data for scheduling, planning, budgeting, and other business needs
- Build strong relationships with key vendors based on respect, trust, and open communication
- Manage standard artwork updates for existing packaging
- Coordinate packaging graphic changes across teams to ensure timely completion and reduce obsolete materials
- Conduct monthly audits of department purchase orders to confirm compliance with policies and procedures
- Stay current on OSHA, FDA, and other regulatory requirements related to ingredients, materials, and supplies.
- College degree in business, procurement, or a related field
- General business experience
- Proficiency with purchasing software, Microsoft Word, and Excel
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively partner with stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Familiarity with finished goods, product specifications, and production methods is preferred.
Annual Base Salary: $75,000 - $100,000
