The General Factory Helper is responsible to Plant Management for the day‑to‑day safe operations throughout the plant. The helper assists as assigned through the facility, including feeding and stacking at various machine centers and assisting with hand labor and housekeeping. The helper understands basic principles of corrugated, flutes, corrugation direction, and can identify various substrates. The helper assists operators in set up and production on their machines and ensures the quality of the finished product produced at each machine center is carried out efficiently, consistent with company quality and production requirements.
Responsibilities- Follow all safety rules and procedures; watch for self and team member safety at all times.
- Always follow lock out/tag out and MSKR procedures; always use required personal protective equipment.
- Prove proficiency at all machine centers.
- Maintain housekeeping standards.
- Demonstrate teamwork and resolve issues effectively and professionally.
- Operate machines at safe speeds and maintain top quality to meet customer needs.
- Detect, prevent, and resolve quality issues, involving management when appropriate.
- Read a standard tape measure, understand job specifications, and follow written and oral directions.
- Operate independently as a self‑starter; read and interpret instructions in English.
- Perform basic math and record keeping.
- Stand, walk, reach, twist, bend, lift up to 35 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Work daily and weekly overtime, including weekends, as required.
- Delegate tasks to crew members to ensure efficient operation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Counting and stacking finished product.
- Reading factory orders.
