Every | 0.9 FTE
Provides direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician.
Responsibilities- Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for review.
- Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions.
- Evaluates learning needs of patients and families and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
- Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
- May triage patients and refer to physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant if needed.
- May relay information to patients.
- May carry out orders by the physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant as it pertains to the needs of the patients.
- May perform administrative/clerical duties in support of assigned clinical department.
- May perform plan of care interventions.
- Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Works under general supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Applies more advanced skills and knowledge in the area of specialization.
- Work Experience:
No experience required. - Education:
High school diploma, GED or higher required upon hire. - Additional Education Information:
None.
- LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse eligible to practice in Kentucky required upon hire.
- BLS – Certified Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 45 days of employment.

Physical DemandsRequires frequent standing, walking and sometimes sitting. Involves lifting 0–25 lbs. frequently and lifting 25–75 lbs. rarely. The role also requires carrying, pushing and pulling various items, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, and repetitive hand and arm movements. Adequate vision, hearing, and ability to speak and listen are essential for effective patient care.
