In collaboration with a physician, diagnoses and treats certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations.

• Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
• May be required to perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care.
• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
• Promote age- and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision‑making, and the right to self‑determination.
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of assessment and patient care plan.
• May coordinate registration functions, including collecting and entering demographic, insurance, employer information, and co‑payments.

• Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Works under direct supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

  No experience required.
• Education:
  
  Master’s degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • RN – Licensed as a Registered Nurse, eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky.
  • APRN – Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Kentucky.
  • APRN – National certification from one of the following required upon hire:
    • American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
    • American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACCN)
    • National Certification for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties (NCCCOGN)
    • Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB)
    • American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
    • National Certification Corporation (NCC) for Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
