Job SummaryIn collaboration with a physician, diagnoses and treats certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations.
Job Responsibilities- Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
- May be required to perform preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and care.
- Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
- Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
- Promote age- and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision‑making, and the right to self‑determination.
- Provide accurate and timely documentation of assessment and patient care plan.
- May coordinate registration functions, including collecting and entering demographic, insurance, employer information, and co‑payments.
- Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Works under direct supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Work Experience:
No experience required. - Education:
Master’s degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire. - Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- RN – Licensed as a Registered Nurse, eligible to practice nursing in the State of Kentucky.
- APRN – Licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in Kentucky.
- APRN – National certification from one of the following required upon hire:
- American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
- American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACCN)
- National Certification for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties (NCCCOGN)
- Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB)
- American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
- National Certification Corporation (NCC) for Neonatal Nurse Practitioner
