KCPC Nurse Manager

Job Description:

Psychiatric Nurse Manager who will practice psychiatric‑mental health nursing. Provides clinical supervision for LPNs, RNs, Charge nurses, and non‑licensed nursing staff in the holistic care and treatment of patients, including psychiatric and medical needs. Assists with hiring and onboarding within the nursing department. Nurse supervisors may function as liaison with educational institutions, coordinating student tours and practicum placement. This professional nurse shall possess specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities obtained through education and experience in caring for persons with behavioral health needs, psychiatric disorders, and co‑occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.

• Provide clinical supervision for LPNs, RNs, charge nurses, and non‑licensed nursing staff.
• Assist with hiring and onboarding of nursing staff.
• Act as liaison with educational institutions, coordinating student tours and practicum placement.
• Participate in assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and coordination of care.
• Conduct health teaching and health promotion for a unique patient population.
• Deliver individual and group counseling, including communication, interviewing, problem‑solving, crisis intervention, stress management, support skill building, educational groups, relaxation techniques, assertiveness training, and conflict resolution.
• Manage safety and maintain the therapeutic milieu in a secure forensic facility.

• Professional nurse with specialized knowledge and experience in psychiatric‑mental health nursing.
• Experience caring for individuals with behavioral health needs, psychiatric disorders, and co‑occurring substance abuse disorders.
• Strong communication, interviewing, crisis intervention, and teaching skills.
